In the Sukamade park we got a guide and a driver (because the latter couldn't speak English, I guess) and we have been very happy with both. He wasn't very talkative but got the job done fairly. The driver who took us to Bromo and Ijen has been very understanding of our times and never rushed us.

The tour included also daily water and seasonal fruit it is not much, but has been an appreciated plus. We did a 4 day tour including mt Bromo, mt Ijen and the Sukamade park, paying around 250 euros for all transports, entrance tickets and accommodations. Also we were amazed by the kind people especially by our driver, he was the best, the nicest person we have met since 2 month of travelling :). It worth every penny actually: we have seen many things we havent ever seen in our lives and we had such a great time in a place that does not look like Earth at all. The car was awesome, the way up to Bromo can be challanging without jeeps and since they are gasoline consuming we dont think this tour was overpriced at all. The driver came on time, he spoke English quite well, showed us and explained everything during the way, he was trying his best to make us feel good, we could ask him anytime if we wanted a stop for photos, wanted trekking or use the car. Bromo can be crowded), for shorter trip she advised to rent a motorbike, she was honest and reliable, was not insisting on anything just to get more money (I am not trying to be stereotypical but if you travelled in Asia or anywhere else you know what I mean). They have many trips, the agent did not mind to explain us everything she even pointed out the bad things (e.g. They were very flexible, and probably best English speaking agent in Asia was very nice. So we arrived on the 21st of February (rainy season), we went to the office at 7 pm and we were able to organize our trip for the same day at midnight. Incredibly helpful in assistance even though we only organized one private car with them! Helios passed on the binoculars to their guide taking other tourists to Kawah Ijen, and handed the binoculars package to us in Banyuwangi. In addition, Helios helped us with planning our own motorcycle trip to Pulau Sempu (timing, best roads to take to avoid traffic, etc.) On top, I had forgotten my binoculars in Jogja and when they finally arrived to Helios, we were already on our way to Banyuwangi. The driver took us to all the attractions on the journey until the final drop-off at Cemoro Lawang from which we took a public transport to Probolinggo. Helios, by default, organizes the standard package trip to Bromo, but very soon after we made it clear that we did not want to see Bromo with crowds of hundreds of people, they were very willing to organize a private car for us to take us to Bromo at our own timing to avoid the crowds. We used Helios Transport to organize our own trip to Bromo and to get general advice on trips around Malang.
